Pyramid Construction Services, LLC, a Quandel Enterprises Company, today announced work on the Messiah University Kim S. Phipps Admissions and Welcome Center in Mechanicsburg, PA has earned a national Excellence in Construction® Pyramid Award, presented during ABC Convention 2022 in San Antonio, on March 16. The EIC awards are the construction industry’s leading national competition that honors general and specialty contractors for world-class, safe, and innovative construction projects from across the nation.
“This award speaks to the commitment and adaptability of the entire project team, working together towards a common goal in the midst of a global pandemic,” Pyramid President Michael N. Klinepeter says.
The project involved the construction of a new 28,000 square foot, 3-story admissions building on a challenging site, positioned among existing structures and in the center of an active campus. The result was the first new standalone building on campus in over 20 years combined with green space to create a new campus center now known as Peace Park.

The EIC award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects are judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation and safety.
A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s judges included representatives from the Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America, University Research Institute and various construction-related firms nationwide.
